Put your investment in the right place

What affects app development cost?

The features your users need

Focus your investment on the tasks that matter most. We map the steps, screens, permissions and error states behind each feature so the estimate covers the complete experience.

Reach the right devices

Start with where your users are. An iPhone release, an iPad experience and an Android app each need their own design and testing scope. We help you plan the platforms for your release.

Connect your existing systems

Make your app part of how your business works. We review the services and data it needs to use, then distinguish ready integrations from new systems or migration work in your quote.

Build on what you already have

Bring your research, designs or existing app. We review what can be carried forward and where refinement is needed, helping you put the next stage of work in the right place.

Prepare for everyday use

A working feature is only part of the experience. We include agreed accessibility, security, offline behaviour and device testing needs in the scope, alongside release preparation.

Stay involved as it takes shape

Review working progress and make decisions with our team. We agree feedback stages and discuss the cost and timing of new requirements before they become part of the build.

Plan your next release

How long does app development take?

Plan for an estimated 8–12 weeks for a focused iOS MVP or 4–6 months for a larger iOS app. From the agreed start, we work through design, development, testing and handover to prepare your release.

We plan milestones with you around project availability. These estimates assume timely feedback, supplied content and account access, and ready integrations. Your quote confirms the schedule and dependencies; changes can affect delivery.

These estimates run to release readiness. App Store review and external approvals can add time before the app is live. Share your target date so we can shape a practical first release together.

The expertise behind your app

Design, development and a clear handover.

Work with a studio that connects the product decisions with the engineering. Both approaches cover the development process for your agreed scope, with deliverables set out in your quote.

A product shaped around your users

Turn your goals into a focused scope, clear journeys and an interface you can review. Wireframes and prototypes let you refine the experience before the build.

Native engineering you can review

See your iPhone app take shape through working updates. We build the agreed features and integrations, then test the journeys, permissions, errors and supported devices.

A clear path to your next release

Prepare for submission with an agreed handover: source access, build notes, account responsibilities and a walkthrough. Ownership and licences are confirmed in your agreement.

Make the first version count

Start with the experience that matters most.

Give your first users something useful, then learn from how they use it. We help you focus the release on the task that matters most, with a clear plan for what can come next.

  • Choose the platform that reaches your first users.
  • Connect suitable existing services to support the core experience.
  • Plan reviews, content and account access so decisions keep moving.
  • Put secondary workflows into a later phase, while retaining essential usability, accessibility and security.

Plan beyond the first release

What costs continue after launch?

Plan for the life of your product as well as its first release. We help clarify the services it will use and the maintenance or further development you want to arrange.

Services that support your app

Plan the store accounts, hosting, storage and third-party services your app needs. Their provider fees and usage limits help determine the running costs of your release.

Keep your product maintained

Discuss the maintenance and support you need, including issue handling and updates for new OS versions or changing services. We confirm what is included and what needs a separate arrangement.

Build on what you learn

Use feedback to decide your next features or platforms, then scope that next stage with us. Defect support and paid improvements are defined separately in your agreement.

A clear plan before we build

Know what your investment will deliver.

  • The users, platforms, features and acceptance criteria for the release.
  • Design, development, testing and launch tasks, including what is excluded.
  • Dependencies, milestones and how changes affect the price and schedule.
  • The price, any applicable VAT, payment stages and third-party fees.
  • Source-code ownership and access, licences, build notes, account responsibilities and a handover walkthrough.
  • Defect support, maintenance and any work after release.

We work through these decisions with you before development, so you can move forward knowing the scope, the cost and the next steps.

Before we begin

Your questions, answered.

Are these fixed-price packages?

We shape the project around your app. These ranges help you compare two starting points; a written quote confirms the features, deliverables, final price and payment arrangements before development begins. Smaller tasks and more complex products can sit outside these examples.

Does the number of screens determine the price?

Screen count helps describe the interface, but it does not capture all the work. Five screens that save information on the device are a different build from five screens with account roles, payments, live data and offline syncing. We estimate the journeys, states and integrations behind the screens, alongside design, testing and release preparation.

Can an MVP include both iOS and Android?

Yes. We can assess shared Swift development with Skip or plan a dedicated Kotlin Android app, depending on the product and its integrations. The ranges here cover a native iPhone app; Android implementation, design, testing and support are scoped and quoted separately. We check compatibility and the requirements of both platforms before recommending the approach.

What if my budget falls between these examples?

Tell us what you want to achieve and the budget you have available. We can prioritise the essential features, build on existing systems or plan the product in stages. The two examples help start that conversation; they are not rigid pricing tiers.

Does a higher budget guarantee a faster launch?

We plan delivery around your scope, project availability and target date. Some work depends on earlier decisions, external systems or approvals, so a larger investment does not automatically shorten the schedule. We work through those dependencies with you when planning the release.

Who owns the app and its source code?

We confirm ownership, licences, source-code access and account responsibilities in your project agreement before the build. Handover and any ongoing development or support are planned alongside those arrangements, so you know what you will receive.

What happens if the scope changes?

We discuss the new requirement with you before it enters development, including how it affects price, timing or other features. You can then decide whether to add it to this release or save it for a later stage, with the cost clear before work begins.
